OUTCOME: Arbitration award in favor of my client, six figure amount.

This case was a FINRA arbitration whereby the panel of arbitrators found that my client, the financial agent, had been defamed by allegations made by the financial institution. We were able to show th ... at the factual basis used by the institution was totally defamatory, to award my client's damages and order his record to be amended. The resulting award in favor of my client was in the six figure category.

OUTCOME: Position as Acting Prosecutor - Capital Murder - Mr. Crawford was found guilty and ultimately executed in July, 2003.

In 1995, as Assistant District Attorney for Montgomery County, Texas, I acted as lead prosecutor in this Capital Murder criminal case whereby Hilton L. Crawford, a close family friend known as "Uncle ... Hilty" to a couple's 12 year old son McKay Everett, kidnapped their only child, holding him for ransom before killing him and subsequently hiding his body in Louisiana. The trial was ultimately moved from Montgomery County, Texas to Huntsville, Texas. My co-counsel and I picked a death penalty jury, taking over a month to try this case. We presented over 90 witnesses and placed more than 250 items of evidence into the record. The trial resulted in a conviction. Hilton L. Crawford received the death penalty; Mr. Crawford was executed on July 3, 2003 in Huntsville, Texas.

OUTCOME: Position as Acting Prosecutor - Capital Murder - Defendant Guilty, life in prison.

Acting as an Assistant District Attorney for Montgomery County, Texas, I spearheaded the arrest of 13 co-defendants by members of law enforcement, involving both Harris and Montgomery Counties in conj ... unction with the FBI as well. There were more than 150 law enforcement officers who were involved in this case. All thirteen co-defendants were charged with Capital Murder and kidnapping; they were all ultimately indicted. One defendant in particular, Mr. Hernandez, was then tried independently before a jury on the Capital Murder charge with the jury finding him guilty. Mr. Hernandez was sentenced to life in prison.
