Prosecutors contended that certain stock prices were artificially inf ... lated through bogus trades designed to boost trading volume for select companies. To the contrary, the defense demonstrated that the client – who had an impeccable reputation as a securities lawyer – had no plans to “dump” the stock, and no knowledge of any supposed effort to “pump” it.
