Biography
Jack practices law full time with one goal in mind: reaching the best possible resolution of civil and business disputes. Since 1975, he has handled thousands of matters involving hundreds of millions of dollars, trying dozens of cases and resolving many more—often on the courthouse steps. His experience includes representing both claimants and defendants, and his work has taken him across the United States as well as to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Jack’s practice spans admiralty and marine matters, inland marine and transportation claims, liquid cargo issues, insurance and reinsurance disputes, and complex commercial issues involving the sale of goods under UCC/INCOTERMS/CISG. He also handles shipyard matters, business contracts, partnerships, real estate litigation, and international disputes. He regularly works through trial, arbitration, mediation, settlement, and contract drafting, and he has also served as an arbitrator. Jack has held an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell since 1982 and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer for transportation since 2009.
