Peter T. Jensen is a New York immigration attorney with more than 35 years of experience guiding individuals, families, employers, and investors through every level of the U.S. immigration system. A graduate of Columbia College and Columbia University School of Law, he was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1990 and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the U.S. Court of International Trade.
Mr. Jensen’s practice spans the full range of immigration matters — from employmentand investment-based petitions such as EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, H-1B, L-1, O-1, and EB-5, to family-based cases — for clients ranging from individuals to small and mid-sized companies and Fortune 500 corporations. What distinguishes his counsel is the real business experience behind it: over his career he has worked across corporate law, insurance, shipping, and international trade, and he has served on the boards of both forprofit and not-for-profit corporations. He approaches each case not as paperwork, but as a strategic problem shaped by how companies hire, how investors move capital, and how
families plan their futures.
His perspective is genuinely international. Mr. Jensen advises clients from across Asia, the Middle East, Australia, Europe, and the Americas, and speaks several languages — including Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish — enabling him to understand each client’s circumstances directly, with nothing lost in translation. His training reflects that global reach: alongside his Columbia degrees, he studied Chinese law at Beijing University and earned an Executive Master of Business from the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University. He also stays in frequent contact with U.S. consulates worldwide to keep abreast of evolving policies and best protect his clients’ interests.
An active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and a past member of its Department of Labor Liaison Committee, Mr. Jensen also writes articles and lectures regularly on immigration law. His work has earned a 4.9-star rating across 140+ client reviews and the Avvo Clients’ Choice Award — recognition, year after year, of a practice clients describe as responsive, meticulous, and genuinely invested in their success.

I highly recommend Peter Jensen for Permanent Residency applications. One of my friends had recommended Peter Jensen to me. His rates are very reasonable. Even though we were not successful on our first attempt, Peter and his team worked very hard on my case and helped me to get my I-140 approved. He...
