Bernard Gerald Post

For more than 40 years I have been engaged exclusively in the practice of Matrimonial Law. My practice has spanned the evolution of family law in New York State including the transition to equitable distribution, the recognition of marriage as an economic partnership, the drafting and recognition of prenuptial agreements, and all aspects of the economics of divorce. I have represented parties in paternity and custody have been lead trial counsel in both the Supreme Court and Family Court and have argued appeals in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. I have served as mediator in numerous divorce matters having received extensive training in the art of mediation. I have been honored to represent members of the judiciary, both State and Federal, in their matrimonial matters. I have been a member of the The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers having served on the Board of Managers of the New York Chapter. I have been named a "Super Lawyer" by Law and Politics for many years, have been rated AV by Martindale Hubbell and have been named a "Preeminent Lawyer" by Martindale Hubbell. I have been named a "Top 100 Lawyer" by the National Advocates. These are all peer review ratings and reflect my experience and standing. I have spoken before peers and interest groups on matrimonial matters.
