Before hiring Michael I read the reviews like you are right now and thought there was no way he could help me. I felt completely powerless and hopeless. My baby girl was falsely taken from me right after she was born in the hospital. I thought if I complied with ACS it would go away since I was i...nnocent but I soon learned that dealing with ACS was like living in a world where you have no rights. Every single thing you say and do will be twisted, manipulated and used against you. I cried every single second of every single day. When I sat in his office he told me we would take the power back. He was so confident and strong I didn't believe him. I actually walked out. I now thank God everyday that I went back. He took charge of everything. He had my previously "powerful" ACS caseworker stuttering and stumbling over her lies. In the first month after hiring him I was back with my baby. And by the next court date ACS coward to Michael and settled my case. There is NO WAY to get through this without him. Do not speak to a single soul about your case until you speak to him.

I am writing this review for Michael Discioarro. Before hiring Michael, I paid another lawyer almost twice the fee, to do zero percent of the work that was needed in my case. This was unfortunate and incredibly frustrating. I realized that it was time to hire THE person who was ready to do the work,... had the skills and expertise, and, frankly, was intelligent, focused and strong enough to accomplish the task. I made the absolute best decision in hiring Michael, because he is and was that person for my case. I was impressed by Michael’s laser focus on getting me through this case. For me it was a matter of a hearing, but if you are wise, you will want him to be on your side from the moment you face a legal challenge related to ACS or any of his areas of expertise. Without a doubt, if I had hired him (or even known what to look for in a lawyer) when my situation first came about, I KNOW I would have not lost months of my life. What my intuition told me was, “this is the best person for the job. Hire him. Now.” Here’s how I figured that out: the first time I met Michael, I noticed that he was the first lawyer to tell me clearly what his approach was. He was honest and straightforward. I could tell that he was ready to believe in my case also, even if he didn’t have every last detail yet. And that meant a lot. He also knew how dysfunctional ACS is, and how they would not willingly put anyone’s interests above their own. He was the first (and only) lawyer to be very, very clear on the fact that I did not do anything warranting a case filed by ACS; and that is the type of lawyer every person who is on the side of truth, deserves. It means nothing if you have a great lawyer, but he’s only fighting your case because it’s a job he signed up to do and not because he actually SEES the truth; I believe it makes a difference as to the result you will get in the case, and, in how far that lawyer is willing to go to make it happen. It made a difference to me because of the position I was in, and if it makes a difference to you, then I highly recommend you go meet Michael to hire him as your lawyer. Later when we actually went through the facts of the case, his faith in our case and me just became stronger. This is the type of lawyer any client would want—one that believes in the truth, facts, and the literally “outstanding” portrayal of them. If you have the facts on your side, that’s great, but you also need a lawyer who will PRESENT the facts, leaving zero room for doubt. This is exactly what Michael did, when it came time to the hearing—he was on top of it. Every other lawyer I met or talked to on the phone prior to hiring Michael, found a way to make me feel guilty and small—I’m pretty sure that’s not the job description of an excellent lawyer, especially one that you are hiring to prove and stand up for your credibility and character—in my case. On the other hand, I met with Micheal and then took a day to sleep on the matter of hiring him or not, and all I felt was relief. Relief that I could stop being overwhelmed by my own case and hand it over to someone with experience, intelligent, and straightforward clarity. It was the first night I had truly slept peacefully since the many months that I had been going through my situation. That’s what let me know, that this was the right person for the job. I was done messing around with ACS and the case they had fabricated against me. I wanted my life back, and if you are reading this review—know that hiring Michael will be on of the best things you could do to achieve your goals in that regard. The day of the hearing will always stay in my mind, as a time of external struggle and internal peace. Our hearing was delayed for over 2.5 hours due to completely preventable “technical difficulties” on the part of ACS and their lawyer.

There is a light at the end of the legal tunnel. Mike Discioarro is a tough negotiator with a heart, who knows the City's complex ACS system well. Your knowledge of the legal issues, knowledge of procedural and courtroom etiquette, and your being on time every time is valued. If I had to use only three words to describe hiring Mr. Discioarro as legal counsel, those words would be: "Money well spent!"

Please forgive any typos or grammatical errors - I wanted to write this off the top of my head so it could be as earnest as possible and come from the true emotional joy Mike gave me and my family: I don't know where best to begin with how great it was to work with Mike. I started online, like mos...t people do in a crisis that they can't simply ask friends for help with...And I found Mike, surrounded by his numerous positive (and accurate!) reviews online. Thank GOD! I could see very early that he was really going to help me and my family, but most importantly treat us as more than just clients...Like a family who needs help and doesn't know where to turn. Truth be told, he might seem like a tough cookie when you talk to him but THAT IS THE KIND OF ATTORNEY YOU NEED!!! Don't be fooled by the ones who try and sound all nice and only want your money. Seriously, I have been absolutely screwed before because of that. Not with Mike - He was relentless; Keen and experienced enough to know how to "play ball" with an awful and tormenting ACS investigation that my family had to go through, and aggressive enough to protect us in every way. I will tell anyone who is going through this type of problem in their life that it is terrible, enough to bring a grown man to tears on multiple occasions (me). But what you need is someone strong and aggressive to handle these people! There is so much manipulation involved on the side of ACS - they can be a very cruel and inhuman organization, which prides itself on TEARING FAMILIES APART! I was fearful for my child and the many terrible outcomes I've read and heard about online...all of which Mike was aware of. But Mike was FIRM! - he tore into ACS in a professional manner and DID NOT LET UP. We gave ACS the bare minimum of what we had for their terrible investigation but MIKE MADE SURE WE DID NOT HAVE TO DO AN OUNCE MORE THAN WE WERE COMFORTABLE WITH and we came out on top! ACS first tried to close the case with a BOGUS indication of child abuse (indication is the term used to mean guilty, in other words). Mike jumped on them that day (In fact, he responds to everything immediately, and even helped me while he was on vacation at one point - God, I can't say enough good things about this man's character). So anyway, Mike fought them on the indication and weeks later (only weeks later because ACS takes FOREVER to torture you) I received a letter in the mail that ACS was going to amend the indication and remove it completely off our record. Of course, because there never should have been one! Thank GOD for Mike - I would recommend him, without hesitation, for anything he does! His experience, character, and flawless approach left us with a win!!! From one parent to the next, this man saved our family and you should look to him to help save yours if, God forbid, you are in a similar crisis. THANK YOU SO MUCH MIKE! GOD BLESS YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

Dedicated- Mr. Discioarro was kind enough to meet with me ,during his Christmas vacation. I called Mr. George M. Glimer, Esq law office at the same time and they never returned my calls. Professional - Mr. Discioarro was available, attentive and on top of my case. Thanks to him my case was dismissed... and I could live like a normal member of society again. Knowledgeable - I am a social service employee and even I was not prepared for the emotional turmoil, psychological bulling, misconstrued truths and sleepless nights associated with ACS. ACS is a bureaucracy that sustains itself on your lack of knowledge as parents.
