The State and Local Indirect Tax practice is the culmination of sales and use tax, telecommunications tax, state and federal excise taxes and surcharges (e.g., Federal Universal Service Fund), other transaction and gross receipts taxes, tax function effectiveness (TFE), and Value-Added Tax with linkage to the Global VAT practice.

Work extensively with both national and international communications clients on a wide range of issues including controversy, FUSF review, tax automation consulting engagements, multi-state tax determination analyses, nexus reviews, M&A tax due diligence, bad debt reviews, reverse audits, disclosure planning, and audit defense assistance.  

Assist with complex sales and use tax issues in industries such as technology, management services, leasing, financial services, energy, retail, wholesale, entertainment, hospitality, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, and transportation.
