Biography
The break-up of a business partnership can be a traumatic affair with severe financial and personal consequences for the company owners and employees. For over 25 years, I've been helping business owners resolve through negotiation, mediation and litigation the complex problems that arise when disputing business co-owners need a "divorce." I also publish a blog called New York Business Divorce which is a great resource for lawyers and business owners seeking information about dissolution proceedings, stock valuation, shareholder and LLC agreements, and a host of related topics. In June 2016, I launched my podcast, the Business Divorce Roundtable, available on Soundcloud, iTunes, Stitcher, and other directories. My twitter feed (@PeterMahlerEsq) features daily alerts of new court decisions of interest to professionals and business owners. In addition to my advocacy work I serve as a court-appointed mediator and I am on the roster of neutrals for Supreme Court, Commercial Division in New York, Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
