Ms. Burt was also a student attorney in the Juvenile Justice Clinic and held internships at the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights; Advancement Project; and the American Civil Liberties Union’s LGBT and AIDS Project. Ms. Burt is the recipient of GULC’s Lorri L. Jean Student Award for Excellence in LGBTQIA Leadership and Advocacy and was an Exceptional Pro Bono Pledge honoree in recognition of her completion of over 175 hours of pro bono service. Jalise served as OUTlaw’s Academic Chair for the 2012-2013 term.
