Robert Agresta

Robert Agresta is a Partner in the firm’s Private Client, Corporate, Trusts and Estates, Litigation and Healthcare practices. For over fifteen years, Mr. Agresta has represented the owners of closely held enterprises and family offices. Mr. Agresta counsels clients on a wide range of business, succession and family office governance issues and he advises, educates and guides clients through the challenges related to operating and managing family investments, operating businesses, real estate, tangible assets and other properties.

He leads and coordinates succession, tax, regulatory and wealth preservation strategies using an iterative model to match solutions to evolving value systems. In advising clients, Robert applies a hands-on business-minded approach geared toward accumulative growth, economic and legal stability and cost management.

Mr. Agresta has also spent a significant portion of his professional career representing businesses, their owners and executives in commercial disputes, advocating in state and federal courts, before arbitration tribunals and resolving enforcement actions before state and federal agencies.

Mr. Agresta has served as litigation counsel in a wide range of matters including antitrust and civil RICO disputes and federal multi-district litigations. He has litigated dozens of cases to award or settlement and has briefed and/or argued appeals in both state and federal appellate courts.

In addition to his Corporate and Litigation practices, he has also assisted healthcare providers in the resolution of reimbursement disputes, regulatory and civil investigations and served as an outside general counsel to hospitals.

Mr. Agresta is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, Wyoming and Washington, DC. He holds an MBA (EMBL-HSG) from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, a Juris Doctor (JD) from New York Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University.

He is a dual-citizen of Italy and the United States and speaks English, Italian, German and Spanish. Robert is a Young Leader with the American Swiss Foundation where he served member of the Board of Directors through 2021.

Elected at 25 as one of the youngest public officials in the State of New Jersey, Robert also served as a publicly elected Councilman and Council President in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. Robert is a named Inventor on two published United States patent applications and is a licensed pilot and avid skier.
