So long as your E1 you can trade. Make sure that you get permission for re-entry

your H1-B start day is Oct 1st /2013. You need to get your waiver before starting your H1 employment

Hi Initially I was in H1 and the expiry is Sep 2013. My wife is was in H4 and expiry date is Sep 2013.

If she does not by due date reply to RFE her status expires. I'd recommend filing to get her under H4 as plan B

If your current H1 is terminated, while your new employer can apply to get you a new H1, it is subject to annual quota

Until 180 days after filing of i485 ( or getting your GC if sooner) you need to work for the same employer.

while you may remain in US while you have an application pending, you may not work, study even drive etc until you get an approval for your filed...
