Biography
Steven Schiesel is a co-founder of Pecoraro & Schiesel, a firm dedicated to representing plaintiffs in personal injury, professional malpractice, and civil rights litigation. He received a B.A., cum laude, from Columbia University, a J.D. from Fordham Law School, where he was a Journal member, and an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Temple Law School. While a student at Columbia, he was elected to the Psi Chi National Honor Society and a member of the Dean's List. Continuing legal education and pro bono service have been a significant part of Steven's legal career since graduating from law school. He completed an intensive, 600-hour, advanced trial advocacy program at the National College of Advocacy in Washington, D.C. and was awarded the highest designation, Diplomat, at its conclusion. At the same time, he was awarded a certificate of completion of the College's Advanced Studies in Trial Advocacy Program. Steven is one of approximately 25 attorneys in the United States who hold a dual designation from the National College of Trial Advocacy.
In 2009, Steven was named to the New York edition of Super Lawyers, a Reuters' publication which lists the top 5 percent of lawyers in New York. In 2018, Steven was name to SuperLawyer's Top 100 Attorneys list. Recently, Steven was also a finalist in Lawdragon's 500 Leading Lawyers in America. In 2007 he received the Empire State Counsel Award from the New York State Bar Association for service to the community.
Steven's cases have appeared in the New York Times, New York Daily News, New York Post, CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox News and WPIX. One recent case was even covered in the media in Europe.
