David Scott Review

Mr. Scott has been representing me for a number of years in a very difficult domestic violence/custody case. His compassion and dedication have been consistent through all these years. He has also allowed me to work out a payment plan I could afford. Mr. Scott always returns my calls and emails. ... I can't imagine having a better attorney, and I would highly recommend him.

Fine Attorney

I find "Horrendous Attorney"'s review difficult to believe. Mr. Scott represented me for a very difficult and contentious divorce/custody matter. Mine was a delicate situation that required a combination of compassion and aggressiveness. Mr. Scott helped me navigate some very difficult waters and... I would highly recommend him.

Horrendous attorney!!

If I could give this attorney zero stars, I would. I retained David to represent me in my divorce. As a victim of domestic violence, I left my home with almost no personal belongings and hardly any assets. At the initial meeting, David seemed like a sympathetic attorney. I explained that my finances ...were extremely limited and he assured me that the legal fees would not exceed $5k and the divorce could be finalized in under 6 months being that there were no children. He then proceeded to burn through my large retainer at lightning speed. On top of filing for several continuances owing to his "ill health", for which he billed me $1000, he dragged my case on for almost a year and billed me double the number he had promised at our initial meeting. In the midst of this, my ex-husband and I reached an extremely delicate settlement via email without David's assistance. One of the provisions was that I needed to file a Complaint for Uncontested Divorce (a 5 page document that in retrospect I realized I could have written myself). It took David over 3 months to draft and file this complaint. During this time, my legal fees continued to accrue and my ex-husband threatened to rescind the settlement agreement. When I tried to negotiate David's exorbitant fees, he ignored my letters and then sued me for breach of contract for withholding the final $2k, after I made all my other payments on time. Avoid this attorney like the plague!!
