You need to speak to an immigration attorney.
Is there a will? If not, You would have to contact the surrogates court in the county that has jurisdiction to try to get administratorship. Please...
They can apply to be administrator, but if you guys don't agree someone else can apply as well, and then you guys will be fighting it out.
Hire an attorney asap to work on getting this dropped.
You need to see if you had a contract that had this as a provision.
Not really. ACS will never in actuality go after someone from making false statements.
You really need to have an attorney check to see what is going on. You don't want to be paying rent twice.
Of course, DYFS (or whatever you want to call them) can do basically anything they want, with very little oversight.
If it is uncontested, then you are out of luck. If it is contested, speak with your attorney, you might be able to sign an affidavit of Plaintiff...
If mom still lives in CA, and filed to modify in CA, then CA never lost jurisdiction.
