When you are 18, you can go where you wish. Until then I don't suggest it.

There is a best interests evaluation. If the parties cannot co-parent, then there will not be joint legal custody. Your son needs to retain counsel...

If its criminal, only the DA and judge can do it, if its family court, you can withdraw the action.
