Seth Ian Katz

Seth Katz is a client’s worst nightmare, He thinks that representing a client is simply adjourning every time a police officer shows up to Court, and changing your not guilty plea to guilty, not presenting evidence, and getting you the same penalties you would have received had you never hired an att...orney. He advertises on his website that he’s available 24/7. Up until you retain him, he’s available. Fine print in his retainer includes exceptions for contacting him before 9am and after 5:30pm. And, if you fall into a not flat rate category, you get billed for those after hours calls. I haven’t spoken with him after hours. I’ve called and went straight to voicemail after hours. There’s no answering service. And, because we never spoke after hours, I was not billed an after hours fee. Throughout the website are at least two false indicators that he or his firm are available 24/7. Yet when you call, almost always, you get a voicemail. Sometimes, you get a receptionist or other staff members who take your message that doesn’t get returned. I wish I had looked at the reviews online before retaining anyone associated with his firm. They all practice the same way. If you wanted to plead guilty, you could’ve and would’ve done so, and not paid an attorney to represent you. Seth had no compassion. No empathy. No moral compass. He cares about one thing- Katz Lawyers. Seth makes a claim on his website that he’s a renowned attorney. The only thing you find throughout your search are extremely poor overall ratings. You also can read through reviews of various people over the years who have had horrific and similar experiences. Go elsewhere! His website states the reasons you need an attorney. I agree with those reasons. The irony is, when you hire Seth:Katz Lawyers it’s almost there opposite of the infamous line from Forrest Gump, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.” If you read the reviews, the overwhelming likelihood is stated throughout.

Paid for a traffic infraction that needed a lawyer since it was a business and not personal. They appeared and settled the issue, but instead of paying the amount using the same card I gave them as previously agreed upon, they just left. I was later told that I needed to go to the court before they c...losed to pay for it, which was a physical impossibility, just because the lawyer left already without doing what was already agreed upon. I later tried to follow up without a reply, and even later get a followup fine for not paying the original fine that they were supposed to pay for in my stead. All without communication on what was going on. They essentially just took my money and did nothing and cost me more money.

I would give -5 stars if possible. Hired them for a traffic violation. Took my credit card information and did nothing with our ticket which I only found out about after receiving. Notice for a suspended license. And when you call for information you cannot get anyone on the phone. It amazes me that ...he is allowed to practice law.

Signed up with Katz to handle a speeding ticket, gave my credit card and first hearing date was postponed. They never showed up at court for the rescheduled hearing date. You can't speak to a person and can only leave a voice message. Phone calls are never returned. Do NOT use this law firm. The...y need to be put out of business!!

Don't be fooled by this one! When you call he will be charming and take your case and your money. That will be the last time you ever speak with Seth Katz. After that you will get a recorded message and they will never return your call!!!!! If you're lucky you will speak with Kate (another lawyer...) who will promise you anything you want to hear or John who will make excuses and give you reasons why no one has returned your calls even though they have taken your money! They never showed up to court for me and my license was suspended and neither they or I knew it!!!! They claim it was a "computer error" but in fact it is because they are incompetent and are only interested in taking your money!!!! Don't be fooled by these people. After 17 calls (and promises) I eventually got my money back, but all a complete waste of time!
