Maybe a Chapter 13 bankruptcy wouldn't be the worst idea? With your foreclosure problem and this, it might make sense to think about it.
Maybe filing bankruptcy would make sense.
Maybe try to short sell it or give it back to the lender. Obviously, part of those deals is no deficiency judgment against you.
Chapter 13, yes; Chapter 7, probably not, but it's possible depending on the circumstances. Why do you want to stop it?

What statute of limitations? Bankruptcy wipes out your obligation to pay the note. Why do you care about the SOL in that context?
