If you are a US citizen, you can get married and sponsor. Or you can do a fiancee visa and then get married and adjust. If you a green card...

Get a police report. You can. Will depend on the officer at the interview, typically not a problem

it is a visitor's visa - B-1 visitor for business and B-2 visitor for pleasure. Typically stamped in the passport as B1/B2.
