Only one state has jurisdiction over issues of custody and visitation at any one time and if the child resides in NV, then NV will be that state.

If you pay basic child support, you have no obligation to pay for anything else, other than u reimbursed maintenance and unreimbursed child care.

Your current lawyer is wrong. NY is a no fault divorce state. You do not need any reason for divorce.
