Paul J. O'Dwyer

Paul has represented me since 2002 in a very complicated immigration case, after I was ordered deported because of the actions of my former lawyer. My case went to the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, where we had a victory and became a legal precedent, and the deportation order was vacated and I was a...ble to become a permanent resident. I was in immigration custody for fourteen months while my case was being decided in court. During that difficult time, Paul made himself available to answer my phone calls and provide me with status of my cases while pursuing multiple legal avenues to get me out from detention. Paul became more than a lawyer during that difficult time and always demonstrated through the whole process that he has the skills and experience to argue and win complicated cases in multiple courts. Paul later represented me in a malpractice action against the immigration attorneys who mis-represented me and ruined my first immigration case. I was awarded $1.2 million in damages, and Paul won the subsequent two appeals of that case. Paul demonstrated that he is capable of preparing, arguing and winning a case in front of a jury and appeal courts and his experience goes far beyond that of immigration. My story has a happy ending: after 10 years I am a US citizen, earned a MBA from a good business school, and enjoy the benefit of a great job. I would not have accomplished all these without a great and competent lawyer like Paul O’Dwyer.
