A South Plainfield woman fractured her knee cap when she tripped on a strap that had fallen off a box at the defendant’s store. The evidence showed that the tripping hazard was present for a sufficient ... period to put the defendant’s on constructive notice of the condition but they failed to remedy the situation before plaintiff encountered the strap while shopping at their store. The plaintiff landed directly on her knee, breaking the knee cap in several places. A surgery using screws and wires was necessary to reduce the fracture. After she healed, the plaintiff still had difficulty negotiating stairs and could not kneel on the injured knee and had difficulty taking care of the family home. Brett R.
