Blake William Rush

I hired Blake, for my divorce case, based on his positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience with Blake was extremely unpleasant. I had a very strong case with years of evidence, my ex who didn't deny said evidence, two custody evaluators who agreed with me (both with over 30 years of experience...) and even evidence submitted by my ex's attorney that helped my case. All this and I still lost. Blake's arrogance does not allow him to be effective in court. He completely ignored what opposing counsel was saying and presented the case he thought was relevant, and refuting nothing they said leaving the judge with no choice but to believe them. When I protested he said to me "how many divorce cases have you tried?" and "that's not what the judge cares about." He couldn't have been more wrong, the judge noted these un-refuted lies in his final judgement. Additionally, he asked me to lie on the stand and he presented documents into evidence (that I requested he not present) and the judge had a hugely negative reaction to. During my ex's testimony Blake was snickering and at one point laughed out loud resulting in the judge reprimanding him. Obviously, a trial involving a divorce and a child is not something to be taken lightly and it was embarrassing to have my attorney act this way. The custody evaluator he suggested I hire did not read documentation that was a huge part of my case and in the end his testimony helped the defense far more than it helped me, the judge even noted this in his final decision. I found that if I did not agree with what he suggested or expressed my own opinion he got very nasty. His need to be in constant control makes him feel entitled to treat people badly, despite the fact that they are a paying client. Anyone going through a divorce has enough mental and emotional stress they certainly do not need an attorney who adds stress and misery to the situation. I would not recommend Blake as an attorney under any circumstances.

I'm not sure how Mr. Rush received such high ratings from other clients as I thought his service was absolutely terrible. If you choose to hire him just be aware that he is extremely rude and arrogant, often disregarding email requests and hanging up or refusing to return phone calls. He talked dow...n to me as though I were less intelligent than him. Instead of fully explaining the process he became aggravated if I asked him too many questions. He also did not update me on my case for months at a time even though I called or emailed, then claimed to be very busy at court which is why he didn't reach out for 6 months. Mr. Rush represented me awhile back and it had to be one of the worst experiences of my life. His lack of professionalism caused me so much added stress. I didn't feel that he had my back as my lawyer, but instead I felt as though he just wanted to get rid of me as a client and didn't really fight on my behalf. Mr. Rush also would believe accusations coming from my ex's attorney without asking my input and would reprimand me. However when I brought up items to discuss with my ex's lawyer he would never do it. I was extremely disappointed in Mr. Rush's service and highly recommend to anyone to find a different lawyer.
