Arthur F Leyden

Mr. Leyden serves as President of the Leyden, Capotorto, Ritacco & Corrigan Law Firm. He is A/V rated by Martindale-Hubbell.  He is Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney who specializes in insurance defense litigation including general negligence, automobile, personal injury, construction and professional malpractice. He also practices in the areas of social security and health care law. He is Past-President of the New Jersey Defense Association and Past-Chairman of the Board of the NJDA. He is President of the Ocean County Bar Association. He is Co-Chairperson of the Ocean County Bar Association Civil Practice Committee and Co-Chair of the Arbitration Committee. He completed an appointment to the District Ethics Committee (2000-2003). He served as the New Jersey Defense Association State Representative to the Defense Research Institute from 2000-2003.  He is an instructor at the New Jersey Defense Association Trial College and has served as an instructor for Continuing Legal Education courses including the Arbitrator training course.  Mr. Leyden is also an Adjunct Professor at Ocean County College and teaches courses in Business and Health Care Law.

Mr. Leyden is a cum laude graduate of Seton Hall University with a B.A. degree in Sociology. He was co-captain of Seton Hall’s soccer team. He also possesses a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Rutgers University. He worked as a Nurse Clinician and Certified Emergency Nurse at the State Trauma Center located at University Hospital in Newark. He instructed paramedics as a preceptor. He was a Critical Care Nurse in the open-heart surgery unit of the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

Upon graduation from Seton Hall School of Law, Mr. Leyden served as judicial clerk to the Honorable Jacques H. Gascoyne, who was designated Presiding Judge of the Civil Part Law Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey in Morris County.
In addition to his professional activities, Mr. Leyden is active in local civic and service Organizations. He was a Charter Member, Past Secretary and Past Member of the Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of Lacey Township. He has served as a coach in the Toms River Soccer Association and a coach in the Toms River Little League. He has served on the Dover Township Recreation Committee and has served as a volunteer for the March of Dimes.

He is a member of the Ocean County, New Jersey and American Bar Associations and the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey. He is a member of the New Jersey Defense Association, the Defense Research Institute, as well as The American Association of Nurse Attorneys.
