IN NJ CAN YOU HAVE A LEASE OVER LAP AN EXISTING LEASE.. IE OLD ONE RUNS OUT APRIL 30TH BUT NEW ONE STARTS APRIL 1ST?

Did you sign the new lease? If so that probably supersedes the old by its terms.
