Samuel Z. Brown

I am the founding principal of The Brown Law Firm, and I bring decades of extensive legal experience to the firm. I specialize in commercial and residential real estate, development, planning, zoning, as well as the guidance and nurturing of companies from the time of their inception, throughout their growth, including navigating governmental affairs and compliance. I am admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, and is admitted to practice in numerous Federal District Courts and the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Additionally, I have been recognized by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a qualified mediator.

Before establishing my own firm, I served as counsel to a local firm in Jackson, New Jersey, and before that, to a national firm in Pennsylvania, where I successfully managed multifaceted transactions for major clients, including Microsoft Corporation. I earned my Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law in Newark, and distinguished myself as an editor of the Rutgers Law Review, and as a codirector of the Rutgers University Urban Legal Clinic.

Outside of my legal practice, I am deeply committed to community service. I serve as counsel and is on the boards of a many local businesses, civic organizations, and charitable institutions, and have organized numerous events, seminars, and community programs aimed at providing legal education and services to underserved populations. As a pro bono advocate, I also established a program dedicated to assisting members of the United States Armed Forces.

I am also actively engaged in the local business and real estate sectors, frequently lecturing on land use and business law. My commitment to fostering smart, sustainable growth is reflected in my extensive work in positive zoning and planning initiatives in the Lakewood community, and beyond. Besides my professional endeavors, I am an enthusiastic cyclist, logging thousands of miles annually, and I am a passionate advocate for safe cycling legislation. I live in Lakewood with my wife and children, exemplifying a harmonious balance of professional excellence and personal fulfillment.
