Not only did he waste our time, he overcharged us for a simple real estate service on the seller side. He never moved a finger before seeing our retainer fee of $1,000 when we only need to pay for any other RE attorney at the Closing table, no attorney would worry about the RE client not paying beca...use if we don't pay, they simply stop their services on the spot, not to mention, attorney fees are normally built in to the closing documents! He also suggests payment on credit card but with a credit card service fee; yes, I understand this is optional, but why not just go the traditional way settling the charges at the closing table? He's very arrogant & impatient, when we were in his office, we asked questions, he'd show it in his tone & on his face. Expect sub-par services. He's a one-man show, there's no paralegal staff, as such, the response time is subject to his availability. Expect responses hours after your request. Btw, he did not even remember what document he sent us and blamed us for not knowing the updates. When we asked if he really emailed us, he found no email history & offered no apologies. We all know in RE, everything on the buyer side is more difficult than the seller side; however, he being a seller's attorney, he charged almost double compared to the buyer's attorney we used less than five month prior. In order to charge higher price, he constructed the invoice with tons of petty items like photocopying documents, updating docs, etc -- items no clients need to know or care -- if he delivered professionally satisfactory services, who would care about those petty little things?! If not being hard sold by his brother, Kenneth Baldo, our real estate agent, we wouldn't even consider using Darren Baldo.
