Expertise and Care to Navigate the Most Complex Situations

Mia Cahill is an exceptional attorney who takes a collaborative approach with her clients to achieve the best outcomes possible. I was referred to Mia by a colleague to handle post judgment motions in the areas of child support, spousal support, parenting time transportation, parenting time holiday ...calendars, and college costs. She took the time to understand the intricacies of my case and laid out the different options available to me, making sure I understood the pros and cons of each. She is very well-connected in Mercer County and when it was determined that mediation would be an appropriate first step, she knew exactly who to recommend for my specific situation. While Mia will play hard ball when necessary, she is very much aligned to reducing conflict and finding solutions that limit the amount of arguing back and forth. She also advised me as to which situations I should handle on my own vs those where she needed to get involved directly. This obviously led to me not needing to pay more in fees than absolutely necessary. I have recommended multiple people to Mia and will continue to do so without hesitation.

Proactive, understanding & cost-efficient

I met in person with 5 divorce attorneys before I met with Mia. The other attorneys seemed disinterested and/or uncaring about my situation, which I thought was strange for what is basically a sales meeting for them. Mia was completely different. 1. She acted like she believed me (which is good, b...ecause I was telling the truth). 2. She was proactive; she gave me a to-do list to get started & there were things on that to-do list that made my case cheaper & more successful. I could tell later that my ex's attorney didn't give him a to-list because of the mistakes the other side made that we didn't make. 3. Mia is a nice person who is a joy to work with. 4. She was cost-efficient - my whole litigated divorce with disputed custody, property, & valuation of a family-owned business came in for $8,000 (your situation may vary).

A true advocate

I was recommended to Mia from a friend after firing my prior attorney for unethical behaviors. Because of my prior experience, I was very vulnerable and hesitant to trust. Mia gained my trust and my respect. She not only looked out for my interest in my divorce case, but went above and beyond t...o protect me from future liabilities. Her knowledge and advice were invaluable.

Debunking the myths of what a lawyer should be...

Mia and I met to discuss my divorce years before I actually secured her firm's services. We had a 60-minute conversation initially and within 60 seconds of that hour-long consultation, I knew Mia was the attorney I needed. She prioritized my heartbreak and sorrow. She made time to listen to me carry ...on and on about my disappointments and hardships. She was empirical and lucid, as you'd expect an attorney to be, yes. But she was tender and empathetic too, and to be frank, I didn't expect that. I thought attorneys were icy cold machines that advise, bill and move on. Oh how wrong I was - at least as it applied to Mia. She possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of the case law that would impact my circumstances. So first off, she was informed and armed me well. Secondly, she was patient and thoughtful, in that she thought before she spoke. I was at what amounts to the most vulnerable I had ever been in my life, confronting a level of pain and sadness I had never encountered and there was my lawyer: measured, tactical, and yes, just plain gentle with me. And finally, when it was time to craft a strategy to advocate for my rights and propose a plan to the other side that was in keeping with my interests, Mia was unwavering. She leaned forward and commanded the space she was in and asserted my arguments with a grace, style and an aptitude I repeatedly found myself thrilled to have in my corner. I am a smart, well-informed single father who needed a world-class litigator that wouldn't patronize me with empty promises and platitudes. I needed an expert with a heart. Mia is that attorney. She strikes an astonishing balance between delivering brilliant legal representation precisely as you need it supplied, while doing so with the humanity and kindness of a loyal confidant. As it turns out, she is as impressive a human being as she ended up being an attorney. Hire her. Period. You'll be glad you did.
