In an extremely difficult divorce where there was definitive reason to believe that potential harm could come to me, Carol extended her professionalism far beyond the reach of what I could have reasonably expected in several instances, making certain that I was kept as safe as possible. She also understood and supported my decision that I did not want divorce by trial and to that end, was extremely detail-oriented in the proposed settlement agreement and respected my decision for concessions that I was willing to agree to. I gave Carol some challenges along the way. During this lengthy process, due to the defendant's lack of cooperation on every level, I found a home that I wanted to purchase. Knowing how much this meant to me, Carol worked with me to make that a reality. Above and beyond expectations. Carol was clear and concise in what she needed from me and I did my best to provide it to her, including some things I was not happy about. This involved a trip to a career specialist that the defendant was insistent on to evaluate my potential earnings income. In hindsight, Carol was correct in counseling me to cooperate with the meeting. Carol helped me through a situation where the defendant violated a civil restraint, and again, her counsel and help were greatly appreciated in an ugly scenario. While you want a lawyer that provides sound legal advise, which Carol does, I needed more than that after be a co-dependent for too many years. I needed someone who would "get it" and she did. She understood my story. There was a lot of time spent together and Carol helped keep me grounded. She understood that this divorce was the loss of a dream not come true, and revealed my nightmare on earth. The defendant was well known and liked in the community and she recognized that my decision would mean public scrutiny and judgment. At the end of a very long road I choose the path that would save my life and I am glad that I chose Carol to help walk that path with me. Carol remains vigilant about my safety and hers and has taken measures above and beyond to ensure our safety in the still not-yet-done process.
