Michael D. Overman represents injured workers who qualify under the Federal Workers’ Compensation Act for wage loss and medical benefits from compensable work-related injuries. As well as workers who qualify under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and its extension acts.
Michael is proud to be part of a legal team that has built its niche in the specialized advocacy for injured federal employees and those who qualify under the LHWCA, DBA, and NAFIA. He has represented hundreds of clients at hearings before the Branch of Hearings and Review. His experience extends through the entire process of federal workers’ compensation hearing process. He is an empathetic advocate who is personally invested in the success of every client and committed to standing up for those in need and fighting for the financial assistance that will help them get back on their feet.

Prior to joining Uliase & Uliase, P.C., Michael served as one of three legal externs to former Justice Henry duPont Ridgely of the Delaware Supreme Court from fall 2012 to spring 2013. While at the Delaware Supreme Court, he drafted bench briefs for Justice Ridgely’s use during oral arguments. The briefs outlined the facts, relevant case law, and provided recommendations for the ultimate disposition. Justice Ridgely expected his externs and clerk to articulate and defend their positions during a round table discussion.
Michael has lived in Spain and speaks conversational Spanish. His fluency greatly benefits clients who speak Spanish as a first language, as he can easily communicate the process and procedures of the case.
In addition to tirelessly representing clients at hearings, Michael has filed numerous appeals to the Employees’ Compensation Appeals Board in Washington, DC. His familiarity with both the appeals process and the preferences of Department of Labor representatives gives his clients an edge with their case.
