Awful

We hired Michele for a tenant/landlord issue in May 2017. It was a pretty simple case, clear cut where the tenant clearly owed us money. We tried to consult with her regularly and sent her all required documentation (if not more) and persisted to ask her questions to make sure she was clear on what... the details of the case were. She would always cut us off, have a temper, and state that "she got it" and had "over 20 years of experience and she knew what she was doing." Ms Boyer failed to enlist trust in us, failed to make us trust her, failed to provide key details during trial, was not aggressive enough to get her points across, and made us lose the case as she did not present a strong case for us, though all of the proof was there. We had to go through 2 rounds of mediation, ultimately to trial. I dont think she was fighting for us - basically going through the motions without prepping for the case. She kept using the excuse that this was not a "murder case" to minimize the importance of all of the money that was owed to us. At the trial, she asked for payment (though that was where she was aggressive vs. the trial) although the signed agreement indicated that we had 10 days to pay. She kept throwing back in our face that she had lost money in this case, though she is the one that made the agreement with us for how much we would pay. Overall, not friendly, not competent, not aggressive, and has a temper. Would NOT recommend.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
