Marcia Kasdan was a god-sent help in our immigration proceedings. It would be difficult to overstate how much she helped our family and how much of our current life in the US we owe to her. Our case was difficult and lengthy. It lasted over five years and included everything from a denied asylum peti...tion to a stay in an immigration detention facility in Elizabeth. Through it all, Marcia worked hard not just to win our case, but to fuel our hopes and motivation. She never wavered in her support and always made time to see us when we needed to. Every time we would go to her office, she would greet us with a smile and words of motivation, and even though our case seemed dire, we always left feeling as if everything would be alright in the end. My father was arrested few years ago and stayed in a detention center for about 2 months. We contacted several lawyers but nobody wanted to take his case. When we contacted Marcia, she was willing to listen and she was the only one that gave us hope, with her help my father was released in December, ...few weeks before Christmas. We have been working with Marcia and her staff for a few years now, we are well aware that my father’s case is very complicated and Marcia explained the whole process and how long it might take. My father still has to report to immigration several times a year and renew his work permit but he is still with us and for this and very grateful to Marcia. We had the interview last June, my father and I were very nervous but it went very well.
