Lisa Kasdan handled the immigration legal work for an employee of our synagogue. The employee's case was a product of our current environment: the rules seemed to be changing by the minute, and Lisa was on top of the whole process from beginning to end. We especially appreciated her ability to commu...nicate in fluent Spanish. The outcome was positive, but what was most important, Lisa made sure our employee had due process. I am a leader at a non-profit organization and my employer hired Lisa to help us when one of our employees was detained by ICE. Within record time, Lisa was able to do her magic to get our employee out of the detention center. Throughout the process, she was professional, answered emails and phone ca...lls in a very timely fashion and carefully balanced the short-term goal of his release with the long-term strategy for our employee's immigration status. Given the ever-changing laws around immigration and asylum seekers, even in the short three weeks our employee was detained, there were multiple new policies and curve balls thrown at us, but Lisa addressed them quickly and acted from a passionate place of pursuing justice. Above all else, it is clear that she does this work with a love for improving the lives of people who seek a better life in America. Plus, she is able to speak in both English and Spanish.
