I was in a bad car accident not to long ago. I was stopped at a red light and an intoxicated driver slammed into me while traveling at approximately 50 mph. My car was totaled and I was badly injured. I sustained a neck injur, a dislocated shoulder in addition to a slipped disc. I am in constant pa...in on a daily basis and have been to dozens of dr’s appointments, including the emergency room as well orthopedic dr’s and am now in physical therapy. NJ is a no fault state when it comes to injury’s in a car accident. This was not known to me and means that I am responsible for my own care even though I was at no fault in this accident and since I have a deductible on my insurance the medical bills are starting to pile up. It also turns out that the driver if the car that caused this accident has inadiquate insurance coverage and I know have to use my own insurance to cover the cost of a new vehicle. This has been incredibly stressful on both my family and I as I have missed work due to my injury’s and our household bills are also starting to go unpaid.
