I had an issue with my previous landlord in where he would not give me back my security deposit. We had agreed that the house was left in good condition and that he should be returning the entire security deposit. I tried countless times to contact the landlord with no success. I then decided to reach out to avvo and have an attorney handle this matter. Avvo suggested working with Hikmat. I reached out to Hikmat via email and he later called me to confirm an appointment in the following days. I briefly explained the matter over the phone and told him I would bring the documents to his office during our appointment. The following week I went to his office which was very conveniently located in Montclair with a private conference room so we can go over the physical documents I provided. Hikmat was very professional and was listening to all of my concerns in regards to this matter. He was very understanding and assured me he will do all in his power to reach out the landlord and have him provide us with the security deposit in which I was entitled to. As the days went on, Hikmat followed up with me about once a week and on the third week, he called to follow up and also confirm that he had received the security deposit check.
