I agree with the other answers. Hiring a lawyer early in the process is essential to try to avoid jail.

If that is your only felony conviction it can be expunged as long as you paid all your fines and restitution.

Any lawyer who advises you to lie is a bad lawyer and an unethical lawyer. You should find a new lawyer.
