Kellen Francis Murphy

Kellen F. Murphy focuses his practice on commercial real estate and land use. Kellen works closely with clients through the contracting, due diligence, financing, and closing stages of real estate transactions, and regularly helps clients structure real estate holding entities and joint venture agreements. He also represents and advises both landlords and tenants in wide range of commercial lease negotiations and transactions, including office, industrial, and retail leasing. 

Kellen also represents clients through all stages of the real estate development and entitlement process, from property acquisition to appearing before local land use boards and other governmental bodies in connection with planning, zoning, and other land use approvals and permits. He also represents developers in the negotiation of redevelopment agreements, and the procurement of public development incentives.

Prior to founding Murphy Partners LLP, Kellen worked at Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland & Perretti, LLP, one of New Jersey’s oldest and most prominent law firms. He also served as a legal and regulatory advisor to Commissioner Harold J. Wirths at the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Kellen currently serves on the Red Bank Zoning Board of Adjustment, and is a member of the Land Use Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Kellen received his law degree, cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center, and his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from West Virginia University. He also holds a graduate certificate in labor and employment relations from Rutgers University.

Kellen lives with his wife Cassie and daughter Madeline in Red Bank, New Jersey.
