Lazy, non-responsive, unprofessional, no attention to detail, and frankly, incompetent.

Lazy, unprofessional, and frankly, incompetent. My boyfriend retained Jeff on our mutual behalf having worked with him when with a prior employer. Whilst neither of us have ever even been to Jersey City in our over decade of being full or part time in the West Village ever since I was in law scho...ol (or NJ in general, aside from flying in or out of Newark over the years), he suggested using him for basic demand letters to an insurance company and Airbnb, as a simple first step (I drafted demand letters at age 20 as a paralegal in San Francisco prior to even attending law school, after graduating early from a top 50 university. I looked up Jeff's education when writing this review, as I did not even know his name to do so prior, as I trusted my boyfriends judgment (we have many friends in NY and NJ still practicing law), and it's safe to say he did not attend top universities - and my top 50 university pales versus my parents full academic scholarship educations at the University of Chicago, Harvard Medical School, and Yale, so standards could be far higher than mine, even for something so uncomplicated). One would think that a demand letter would be pretty simple given I wrote them at age 20 with only a bachelors degree at the time, and while we assumed we would need to rewrite a good portion, to say it was inept and riddled with errors (he only ever even attempted the far more simple letter for the insurance company; an Airbnb guest of a neighbour to an investment townhouse I own in the states vandalized my empty property, on video; Airbnb located the guests, and sent it to their insurance company to pay the claim; we used to live in SF and Manhattan when I was in law school and for years after, but now live in London), would be an understatement. At one point Jeff literally stated that he represented THE INSURANCE COMPANY and demanded that damages be paid TO THEM (someone throws a brick through your empty property and YOU need to pay the insurance company for the damage to YOUR property as the innocent victim?!), and his exhibits consisted of emails from my boyfriend saying "Airbnb said/did this," (that damage to "others" such as "neighbours" is covered under their third party insurance policy, that they located the guests responsible, etc) - so exhibits which specifically and exclusively consisted of hearsay. He was provided with the policy and emails FROM Airbnb making these statements themselves, which CAN be used as evidence of truth in fact! He also spelled my boyfriend's surname multiple ways in the same 3 bullet points (i.e. spelling it right, then wrong, then right again). I had to rewrite the entire thing and re-do all exhibits to actually contain the direct statements made in writing by Airbnb and also of their policy itself to show that relief is necessary, and Jeff had us send the letter certified mail ourselves, from London. We also sent him just a small portion of the countless pieces of evidence of and history regarding the 10+ years of illegal parties violating Airbnbs "party ban," advertisements offering to host illegal numbers of guests in the 3 unit Airbnb party house violating occupancy regulations, etc for the more complicated case with Airbnb, but, after weeks, he failed to ever look at that, nonetheless attempt anything involved on that front (and did not respond to calls/e-mails; when he finally did, he unprofessionally cancelled the call at the last minute and said to email him, then again failed to reply; at this point only having written one incompetent and embarrassing on his behalf (and ours had it been sent and I not rewritten it), letter. My boyfriend suggested hiring him in the past to another employer, who did not want to hire him (he just learned this when telling his boss how incompetent Jeff was with something so simple) - wise choice. Looking him up, location, education, etc wise, I'm not surprised, though I would think the NJ bar would have higher standards.
