Angelica Maria Mercadoo

Angelica M. Mercado, Esq. is a Founding Partner of Snyder Kenney & Mercado LLC, representing clients in all aspects of family law, including complex and high-conflict matrimonial, non-dissolution, and domestic violence matters. Angelica is a fluent Spanish speaker, providing legal representation to both English and Spanish-speaking clients throughout the State of New Jersey. Angelica approaches each case by centering her client’s individual goals and rooting the legal strategy in empathy and experience.

Outside of the courtroom, Angelica maintains a commitment to social justice, mentorship, and community engagement. She is actively involved in professional and community organizations, including the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey, Hispanic National Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, Morris County Bar Association, and Essex County Bar Association. She currently serves as a Trustee-at-Large for the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey, a Board Member of the Association for Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA NJ), and a Trustee for the Morris County Bar Foundation.

Angelica is a frequent speaker and lecturer on topics in family law, presenting for organizations such as Lawline, Justia, Practising Law Institute, Quimbee, NJICLE, Essex County Bar Association, Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey, Hispanic National Bar Association, ALPFA NJ, American Association of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), and myLawCLE.

She was also featured in Seton Hall University’s IMPACT Magazine as a notable alum, highlighting her professional accomplishments and contributions to the broader community. Her dedication to empowerment and community was further recognized when she was honored by The International Girls Academy during its Hispanic Heritage Month event, Juntas Somos Más: Honoring Latinas (October 2025).

Angelica earned her Juris Doctor and Master’s Degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she received the Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Center for Social Justice Clinical Programs. As a Center for Social Justice Scholar, she worked on public-interest initiatives, including the Immigration and International Human Rights Clinic. While there, she contributed substantially to the amicus brief filed on behalf of the Center for Constitutional Rights in Acoli v. New Jersey State Parole, 273 A.3d 426 (2022). She also successfully obtained asylum for a client fleeing political persecution.

Following law school, Angelica served as a Law Clerk in the New Jersey Superior Court’s Family Part in Somerset County for the Honorable John P. McDonald, J.S.C., and the Honorable John W. Romankow, J.S.C., where she researched and wrote on issues arising out of matrimonial motions and trial matters.

Angelica currently mentors high school and law students with NJ LEEP and the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey, maintains a dedicated pro bono practice, and volunteers with various bar associations, legal clinics, and programs supporting pre-law and law students.
