I don't have anyone to compare this lawyer to but if this is the norm for personal injury attorney then there's nothing but disappointment ahead. The entire process has been a joke. First the attorney, Joe, tells me that they are there to help me schedule my doctors' appointments which were needed d...ue to the multiple injuries sustained as a result of a MV accident. Then the office assistant assigned to my case tells me they don't have time to do that. They had me going to doctors' appointments for over two years. At one point I couldn't keep the appointments because the doctors were only available during my working hours. At this time Joe brought me to his office and told me "I don't do $10 - $15 thousand dollar cases, if that's what you want then I suggest you get another attorney" Per the advice from his staff I had several painful procedures done which I didn't want to do but was told "it would help my case". Finally about a month ago I was notified that I would be getting a transfer from my job therefore I'd be relocating to another state. I immediately notified Joe's office so that they could make sure the upcoming deposition wouldn't be rescheduled. Shortly after I contacted the office and informed them of my upcoming move I was told that they had settled the case for $15,000 without so much as a notification. Now, at this point I was deflated because I had some very serious and permanent injuries however, I also knew there wasn't much I could do about it. Sadly, it was Joe's secretary who informed me of this, Joe didn't so much as show his face. It has now been three weeks since I was notified by the defendant's insurance company letting me know the check had been mailed to Joe LaBarbiera's office. I've been trying to get a hold of someone at his office who can answer my questions but every single time I call I am told the person is either at lunch or on the other line and I keep being sent to her voicemail. Needless to say my experience with this law firm has been less than stellar and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who is looking for a real professional to handle their case, if you are looking for quick money, want to get doctors paid, and don't have any real injuries then this is your guy.
