Stephen Neil Dratch

Stephen N. Dratch, one of the firm’s senior litigators, has practiced since 1973 in all trial, chancery, criminal and appellate forums in New Jersey and New York. He has a great deal of experience in the areas of all types of litigation including but not limited to commercial litigation, personal injury litigation, criminal law, both trial, appellate, post conviction, New Jersey/New York Parole matters and chancery litigation. Mr. Dratch served as Legislative to then New Jersey State Senator Martin L. Greenberg (1973-74). While in Law school he was a research assistant to then Professor and now United States Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Mr. Dratch is counsel of record in many leading published opinions in New Jersey and New York State and Federal courts. Mr. Dratch has handled substantial personal injury matters that have resulted in verdicts of millions of dollars. Mr. Dratch is a Criminal Justice Act (“CJA”) attorney, appointed by the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey to represent defendants. Mr. Dratch represents insurers in Fidelity/Crime insurance related coverage and defense matters. He graduated with a B.A. degree, with honors in 1970 from Brooklyn College of City University of New York and received his J.D. degree from Rutgers University School of Law (Newark) in 1973. In addition to being admitted to the New Jersey State Bar and to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, he is admitted to the New York State Bar, the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, the Northern District Court of New York and the Western District Court of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Dratch has appeared in cases by special permission in California, Colorado, Kansas, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Texas and Puerto Rico. He is a member of the Essex County, New Jersey State Bar Association, American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, New York City Bar Association and New Jersey Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the Federal Bar Association. New Jersey Monthly magazine has proclaimed Mr. Dratch as one of New Jerseys Super Lawyers in the area of general litigation.
