Mark P. Dugan

Mark P. Dugan is a distinguished attorney based in Union County, New Jersey, where he has built a robust legal practice. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Economics with a major in Accounting from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and earned his Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, where he was recognized as a Samuel Belkin Scholar in Corporate Law.

Mr. Dugan specializes in business law, often serving as outside general legal counsel. His clientele includes a diverse range of businesses—large, medium, and small—primarily focusing on closely-held entities. He also has extensive experience representing non-profit organizations, guiding them from formation through to securing tax-exempt status when applicable. With decades of experience, he adeptly assists clients in structuring, forming, and organizing both business and non-profit entities, ensuring compliance with corporate formalities, and providing ongoing consultations. His practice includes negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and revising various legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and leases.

In addition to his business law practice, Mr. Dugan is a seasoned commercial litigator, dedicated to protecting the rights of organizations. Licensed to practice law in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia, Mr. Dugan is also admitted to practice before several federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Southern District of New York, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit.

Throughout his career, Mr. Dugan has held various leadership roles, including serving as an investigator, Vice Chair, and Chair of the District XII Ethics Committee for Union County, as well as a Panel Chair for the District XII Fee Arbitration Committee. He has been an elected public official on the Cranford Township Committee, where he served as Finance Commissioner and Public Affairs Commissioner, and has held positions on the Rahway Valley Sewerage Authority.

In addition to his professional commitments, Mr. Dugan has actively participated on the boards of numerous civic, charitable, and religious organizations. He currently provides pro bono legal counsel to St. Joseph Social Center, Inc. and serves on the Board of Trustees for The Roncoli Foundation.
