My legal practice focuses on municipal law, with particular emphasis on land use and zoning law.    

I have represented applicants before local land use boards since 1984 and I have represented planning boards and zoning boards of adjustment since 1988.  

I have experience with commercial and residential site plan and subdivision applications, use variances, and complicated and controversial applications such as solar electric generating facilities, cellular telecommunications facilities, billboards, and cemeteries.  I have also handled hundreds of routine homeowner applications ranging from additions requiring setback variances to survey mistakes involving swimming pools. 

In addition to land use and zoning law, I have a broad range of experience and knowledge in all aspects of municipal law which is an asset when issues in those other areas interrelate with matters pending before land use boards .  One example is affordable housing.  I serve as special counsel to a few municipalities in affordable housing matters and I have brought my affordable housing experience and knowledge to the land use boards I represent in land use applications that have involved affordable housing components as well as to the preparation, review and adoption of Housing Element and Fair Share Plan elements of the Master Plan.

I also have experience with issues arising under the Right to Farm Act and the Highlands Water Protection Act.
