I hired Attorney Sherer to validate the adoption of my daughter in the state of Connecticut. I needed the validation done quickly to complete the immigration process for my daughter. The whole validation process took only a matter of weeks and included an expedited petition for court hearing (which... was granted) and a video hearing in which my petition was granted. I couldn't imagine a better experience. If you have an adoption issue in Connecticut and need to hire an attorney, Mr. Sherer would be a great choice. He knows the law (in fact he wrote part of the state statute himself when he served as a state legislator) and the judges well. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

I have been a GC multiple times and every time we’ve used Attorney Sherer the process was smooth and easy! Surrogacy contracts and pre birth orders aren’t something that family courts deal with routinely, and having an attorney that is knowledgeable about the process was so important! In one of the c...ases, Attorney Sherer even had to advise the judge on what to do because he’d never done one before. While it’s not always the case, twice he even made it possible for us to leave The court house with our legal documents THE SAME DAY! And even made extra certified copies at the court house so we could have them for the IPs, hospital, consulate, and to bring home to the state the IPs lived in. If you’re navigating the surrogacy process, hire someone who knows Connecticut laws and can help make a stressful process smooth.

We had a dual state, non relative adoption, of a child we had already had custody of, which can be very tricky. Don found an agency that would work with us to make our adoption possible. Although the process was very lengthy, Don was always there to walk us through the process and was quick to answe...r any of our questions. I would recommend him to anyone needing an adoption lawyer.
