Recently, Ms. Segal was Principal at Law Office of Anne Marie Segal, at which she advised executives, entrepreneurs, fund managers, business owners and other clients.
From March 2005 to April 2012, Ms. Segal was Deputy General Counsel to Wexford Capital LP, a prominent hedge and private equity fund adviser. While at Wexford, she has provided legal advice to senior management and employees on a range of issues. In particular, she has overseen corporate and compliance matters, including fund and entity formations, disclosure documentation, trading and investment agreements, employment matters, general contracts and SEC compliance. Her experience at Wexford includes the drafting, review and negotiation of hundreds of legal documents over the course of seven years with the firm.
From May 2000 to March 2005, Ms. Segal was an Associate in the corporate department of White & Case LLP. While at the firm, she was the lead associate on a number of complex asset-backed and other financing transactions as well as securities filings and corporate trust matters. She represented a range of financial institutions, public companies, government-supported entities, trustees and institutional clients.
Education
Ms. Segal holds a J.D. from NYU Law School, an M.A. in art history from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in fine arts from Loyola University of Chicago, magna cum laude. At NYU Law School, Ms. Segal was Managing Editor of The Journal of Interational Law & Politics. While in law school, she held internships with White & Case LLP, the Honorable Howard M. Holtzmann, The Museum of Modern Art and the Mexican law firm of Bryan, González Vargas y González Baz, S.C.
Additional Work Experience and Information
Prior to law school, Ms. Segal served as assistant curator to LaSalle National Bank, assistant director to Catherine Edelman Gallery, assistant director to Schneider Gallery and photography intern to The Art Institute of Chicago.
