It's my pleasure to submit a positive review for attorney Dan Murphy. Dan brings integrity to his profession, something I suspect he demonstrates in his personal life as well. During my 13 month divorce, he continually coached me on the value of restraint, always concerned with how any action migh...t be perceived should we head to trial. His patience, coupled with his relentless attention to detail, resulted in a positive outcome when my divorce turned from amicable to litigious. Dan successfully reduced my now ex-wife's settlement demand by 85%. Her lawyer tried an aggressive approach that Dan's experience and coolheadedness was able to navigate and resolve using the facts of our case. While I am grateful to settling only weeks before our trial, part of me wishes I could have seen Dan litigate -- his tenacity and willingness to fight on my behalf was a preview I got to glimpse during deposition. Thank you, Dan.

Going through a divorce is stressful enough. Do not bring this man into your life unless you're looking to make it more stressful, and lose all your money while you're at it. Towards the end of the literal YEARS I was stuck with Dan (got too far in and couldn't afford starting over with another retai...ner somewhere else), I really started to believe Dan was a malicious person. As some years have passed and I have more perspective on it now, I see he is someone who is simply just lazy and in it for the $$. To pay this man $500/hour is both sickening and laughable when I think about what he actually did during that time. A whole lot of nothing. He is arrogant, overpriced, and just a lazy man. There's plenty of decent overpriced lawyers on the Gold Coast. Go find one, because Dan Murphy isn't it.

I signed up for a divorce. After $45,000 in fees, he convinced me to settle to avoid a costly custody battle. I was promptly sued for custody. The settlement was reviewed and the judge determined I owed another $12,000 to my ex. After I went bankrupt, he sued my aunt. My aunt had given me the $10,...000 retainer, and co-signed, so he used his highest billing rate and sued her for another $50,000, knowing full well she had only agreed to the initial $10,000. I then had to spend $20,000 defending against his suing my aunt, because he could just file motion after motion. Destroyed my relationship with my aunt. I lost my son. Never go to this man.

Dan is a consummate professional and has a vast knowledge of the law. He helped me through my divorce with compassion and understanding and was able to keep me focused on the end goal, even through all the difficulties that come with a bitter divorce. Dan Murphy was absolutely wonderful to work with. From the initial consultation he was immediately engaged in my situation.
