Preston Tisdale

More than 40 years ago, Preston began his legal career at Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder. After pursuing other legal and civic leadership roles, he returned to the firm in 2010, bringing decades of courtroom experience and public service.

Before rejoining Koskoff, Preston served as Director of Special Public Defenders for the State of Connecticut’s Office of Chief Public Defender, overseeing all Special Public Defender operations within the Division of Public Defender Services. He previously led the Fairfield Judicial District Public Defender’s Office.

Preston is President of the Public Justice Foundation and serves on the Board of Governors of both the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. He has contributed to numerous statewide initiatives, including the Connecticut Commission on Racial and Ethnic Disparity in the Criminal Justice System, and has taught for the National Defender Training Program and the Connecticut Bar Association.

His civic work includes board service with Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, the Bridgeport Public Education Fund, and the Center for Children’s Advocacy.

Preston earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his law degree from New York University School of Law.
