Heaven Sent Lawyer! Highly recommended!

A few years ago, John took my case for two felonies I was being charged with. He was not only an amazing lawyer, but an amazing friend. He explained to me every step of the case and guided me in what I needed to do in order to win my case. He recommended places to help with my alcohol abuse. He spoke... to me like he would to a friend, maybe even family. I knew I was going to be alright with his explanation of everything. This case which included charges like assault and reckless driving was ultimately dismissed. The dismissal of these charges allowed for me to go back to school and more recently obtain my graduate degree!!!! Furthermore, more recently I hired him to help with a friend was wrongly accused. He did a phenomenal job with this case as well. Helping to get my friend a PTA from a 155,000 dollar bond!!! I strongly recommend attorney Bowdren. Not only is he good at what he does, he is befriendable, understanding, kind and caring! I feel like he is part of my family. I thank God for John because without him I do not believe that I would be where I am today! Hats off to you Attorney Bowdren! Excellent job!

Represented me twice, once for a dui, once for a civil matter.

John is an honest lawyer. He is realistic and does not mislead his clients. When I got my Dui I insisted we "fight this thing!" He asked me,"So you didn't drink and then drive?" Guess what? I did. John guided me through the process and got me into the alcohol program for first time offenders, which d...rops criminal charges. He knows what he is doing, he responded to all my calls and texts, and he is reasonable with his fees. He truly cares. I am having financial hard times and he worked out a payment plan with me. I will continue to use and recommend him.

Unprofessional

Atty John Bowdren took my case as he specialized in criminal law. I had no idea what to expect at court & had a lawyer to help guide me but I was never guided & in between court dates any question I had I would contact him to ask & was given vague responses leaving me still confused. When I looked fo...r clarification I was made to feel stupid & like I was bothering him. He would tell me to meet him at court at certain time but I would wait at least an hour for him to show up last minute to review case with me & then he would rush me. I should say in the very beginning he seemed interested in helping but It was like he never worked on my case at all. I ended up seeking counsel somewhere else about what I needed to do to wrap case up without having permanent record (first time offender), I do not know the system. Mr Bowdren made me more nervous. I would never recommend him.

Poor Service and Poor Attitude

I turned to John while I was caged, not at a time I could do much homework on an attorney. His yellow pages ad seemed to fit my needs. I would speak to John and then sometimes Jack would show up and seemed completely uninformed about what I wanted to happen. If you want a pair of zone defense... that are highly likely to be present for each and every one of there 100s of clients, rather than a lawyer that can keep track of your unique situation and information then go with John and Jack. Also I was told by John he didn't have time to answer my email, and he seemed to be annoyed when I spoke. I got the impression I was being constantly talked down to and assumed to be guilty by John. John could not seem to comprehend that I would not accept a plea deal under any circumstance. I dismissed John, got another attorney what would answer my questions and who had a much better attitude, and got my case moving and my charges ultimately dismissed.

Bait and switch

I would NEVER recommend his services, not even to my worst enemy!!! I contact Jack O'Connell and spoke to him about legal representation and a payment plan. He told me that he would represent me in my case and we had set up an appointment for me to come into the office to have a consultation. When I... arrived for the appointment, I was informed that Jack O'Connell would not be representing me but his partner, John Bowdren would. I was not comfortable with this abrupt changed but I was reassured that I would receive the same level of services, regardless of who was representing me within the firm. I should have listened to my gut feeling because when I began too notice that it was all a lie, it was too late. Once the case was underway, the payment plan we had agreed to, went flying out the window and Attorney John Bowdren DEMANDED full payment. I had told him that there was a reason that I had agreed to the payment plan, because I could not pay all of it upfront. Well, his response to that was, whatever agreement that was made between Jack and myself, had nothing to do with him. (Yes, at this point I should have walked away but I was in dyer need of representation, so I stuck it out) Well durning all of this, I had asked him to please postpone the court date to another day. Well Mr. Boldren failed to do so, which caused the court to issue a warrant for my arrest. I had hired the Law firm to help me resolve a legal matter with the court but instead did nothing but cause me even MORE issues! I attempted to contact him after my court date to see what day the case was postponed to and never received a call back from him. I found out about the warrant when the police showed up at my home to arrest me! I NEVER received a call from Attorney John Bowdren about this warrant. I then called him numerous times and finally he returned my call, from the last time I called him, over a week later! The impression that I got from him, durning the conversation, was that he just didn't care about what had occurred, due to his neglegence. I told him that I no longer want him to represent me and that I was in the process of obtaining new legal representation. He still had the audacity to ask me for full payment for services "NOT" rendered!!
