Shannon Mae Jakubowski

Attorney Jakubowski is a litigation attorney at Dolan Divorce Lawyers, where she represents clients in divorce, custody, child support, post-judgment matters, restraining order cases, and other family law matters. She also provides consulting and review counsel services for clients who need focused guidance on specific issues, agreements, or litigation strategy.

Attorney Jakubowski brings a highly organized and thorough approach to her work. Her background gives her a practical understanding of family law cases from multiple perspectives, including direct client advocacy, litigation practice, and non-adversarial dispute resolution. Before becoming an attorney, Attorney Jakubowski worked as a family law paralegal while attending law school part time, giving her a strong foundation in case preparation, document review, client communication, and the many details that can affect the outcome of a family law matter.

In addition to her litigation practice, Attorney Jakubowski has completed training in mediation and collaborative divorce. She is a member of the Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce and co-chairs the Family Law Section of the New Haven County Bar Association. Her professional involvement reflects her commitment to thoughtful, well-informed family law practice and to helping clients assess the process best suited to their circumstances.

Before entering the legal field, Attorney Jakubowski worked as an Advocate and later as a Shelter Case Manager for the Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services at BHCare. That experience continues to inform the way she works with clients facing difficult family dynamics, safety concerns, and emotionally complex disputes.

Attorney Jakubowski received her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law, graduating in approximately the top seven percent of her class with concentrations in family law and civil advocacy and dispute resolution. She also earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justice from the University of New Haven.
