Megan Claire McGrath

Megan C. McGrath is a litigation attorney at Dolan Divorce Lawyers, where she represents clients in divorce, custody, complex asset division, post-judgment, and other family law matters throughout Connecticut. Her practice includes high-asset and high-net-worth divorce cases, high-conflict custody matters, mediation, collaborative divorce, parenting coordination, and Guardian ad Litem work.

Attorney McGrath brings substantial courtroom and trial experience to her work with clients. She is a strong advocate in contested matters, while also giving clients practical advice about strategy, risk, cost, and the range of likely outcomes. Her approach is especially valuable in cases involving complex finances, difficult parenting issues, and disputes that require both careful preparation and sound judgment.

Attorney McGrath is also well known for her work as a Guardian ad Litem and Attorney for the Minor Child. She is trusted by many in that capacity and is approved to serve as a GAL/AMC in multiple Connecticut judicial districts. Her experience representing and advocating for children gives her a deep understanding of custody disputes, family dynamics, parenting plans, and the way courts evaluate the best interests of children.

In addition to her litigation practice, Attorney McGrath is a certified mediator, parenting coordinator, and collaborative divorce professional. She is a member of the Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce and serves on its Professional Development Committee. Her ability to move between litigation, mediation, collaborative divorce, and court-appointed roles allows her to help clients choose the process
best suited to their circumstances.

Before joining Dolan Divorce Lawyers, Attorney McGrath served as Managing Attorney at a Connecticut family law firm, where she practiced exclusively in family law. She remains active in the legal community, including through her involvement with the New Haven County Bar Association and Connecticut Bar Association.

Attorney McGrath earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law, with a concentration in family law, and received academic awards in Family Law and Divorce and the Divorcing Family. She has been recognized as a Connecticut Law Tribune New Leader in the Law and as a multi-year Super Lawyers Rising Star.
