N/AOUTCOME: On May 2, 2018, after 19 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, Mr. Jackson's case was dismissed and he was released from prison after new evidence was discovered that exonerated him.
The Marquis Jackson case begins with the armed robbery of a corner store in New Haven, Connecticut, called the Dixwell Deli. On or about 3:32 AM in the early morning hours of January 24, 1999, three me ... n wearing masks and brandishing firearms entered the store. In the ensuing course of events, the owner was shot and wounded, an employee was assaulted, and a customer was shot and killed. Mr. Jackson was ultimately convicted of this heinous crime, and sentenced to 45 years in prison. He maintained his innocence from the beginning.
